" Ms. Silver's assistance was invaluable in assuring our eldest daughter's college essay truly represented her interests in college academics and the student experience, and how her enrollment would enrich the student body. Three of the four colleges to which she was accepted and received significant scholarship offers specifically mentioned how impressed they were with her essay--high praise indeed."  Shannon Clements Dearborn, MI

The College Essay Writing Workshop (CEW)

The CEW workshop curriculum is designed to holistically integrate and build on the unique personal strengths, interests, and life experiences of each participant, with attention to writing with a clear and authentic voice.  The CRC Workshop  usually precedes the CEW Workshop.

We recommend the CEW Workshop be completed in late summer or early fall of the students senior year whereas the CRC Workshop is often taken in spring of the junior year or sometime before the CEW workshop.

Assignments in the CEW workshop relate to the Writing Sections of the Common Application and to similar writing requirements found in most college and university applications. These requirements include development of a substantive personal essay, organization of a descriptive activities list, and answers to supplemental questions.

Method of Delivery: Private online study guide and assignments plus frequent individual consultations with the counselor via phone and email.

Scheduling: Contact navigations2college@gmail.com for current availability of workshops.  The College Research and Comparison workshop is recommended  for spring of junior year or early summer between junior and senior year to allow time for exploration. The Essay and application writing workshop is recommended for mid to late summer  between junior and senior year or  early fall.

Tuition: Partial to full scholarships are available to students from Ashland High School vicinity based on financial need.
